He was right. One by one, the birds vanished. Not captured. Not caged. Deleted. Their save files bloated with a trillion coins, corrupted by their own wealth.

Blu and Jewel, the last remaining macaws not yet digitized by Dr. Bloonstein’s machine, felt it first. They were trying to rescue a Toucan from a floating cage. Normally, they’d need strategy. One bird to break a rope, another to dislodge a gear.
It started with a single Red Bird. Not the angry, round one we know. This one was... glitched. A pixel of gold shimmered where his feather tuft should be. He didn't fly in an arc. He simply materialized two inches to the left of the slingshot. He was right
Levels melted. Puzzles dissolved. The beautiful, hand-drawn jungle of Rio de Janeiro began to pixelate. The samba drums stuttered. The sun became a low-resolution yellow square.
