The TYT DM-1801 is a rugged, affordable DMR/Analog handheld. Its hardware is surprisingly good for the price, but the is the classic "Chinese radio" experience: feature-rich on paper, but clunky in execution. However, this radio has a secret life—custom firmware (OpenGD77) transforms it entirely.
