I downloaded this .rar archive hoping to add an extraction/edge-detection filter to my legacy CS5 setup. Here’s what I found:

Inside the .rar was a single .8bf plugin file, a .dll , and a text file claiming to be a "readme" (actually just a link to a defunct forum).

The filter worked as a basic "extract" (like an old edge glow/alpha matte). On Windows 10/11, CS5 crashed twice. On native Windows 7 (CS5’s era), it ran, but the UI was clunky and non-resizable.

Manual install only – copy the .8bf to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Plug-ins\ . The .dll needed to go into System32, which is always a red flag.
