Berlin, 1941. Five young friends (two Wehrmacht soldiers, a nurse, a Jewish tailor, and an aspiring singer) vow to meet again after "the war will be over by Christmas." The series follows their moral descent through the Eastern Front, the Holocaust, and Nazi resistance – showing how ordinary people become perpetrators, victims, or cowards.
