In the basement of a nondescript data center in The Dalles, Oregon, behind seven layers of biometric security and a two-ton blast door, sits a small, unassuming hard drive. It is encased in a block of machined tungsten alloy, wrapped in a Faraday cage, and submerged in a vat of inert mineral oil. This is not just another backup.
