In many parts of Southeast Asia, particularly in Thailand and the Philippines, the term ladyboy (or kathoey ) refers to a person assigned male at birth who identifies and lives as a woman. While the entertainment industry often highlights ladyboys in cabaret, many, like Vicky, are small business owners who work incredibly hard behind the scenes.
