In a rare December 2023 interview, Liu confirmed, “We’re waiting for the script to be exactly right. Destin wants to push the envelope. This isn’t just ‘another sequel.’ It’s an emotional and martial arts epic.” The central mystery of the sequel lies in the Ten Rings themselves. Unlike the comics (where the rings are alien tech tied to the dragon-like Makluans), the MCU’s version seems to be something far older and more arcane.
