Go to the official TP-Link Download Center . Search for “TL-WR840N”. Select your exact hardware version. Download the latest firmware (usually a .bin or .img file). Unzip the folder if it is compressed.
Click “Browse” (or “Choose File”), select the unzipped firmware file. Click “Upgrade”. Confirm the warning pop-up.
On the left menu, go to System Tools > Firmware Upgrade .
